Question:

Only 2 weeks to summer train for XC! help!?

I ran XC in high school with a 5K best of 25 minutes.

This year I want to break 22 minutes.

I've been running 3-4 miles about 4 days a week at 10 minute-mile pace (not enough, I know).

The problem is that I have very little time this summer to prepare for the fall season...

1 week at home to run (in July)

4 weeks traveling where I cannot run at all but can jumprope

1 week at home to run (in August)

I want to improve my times and endurance as fast as possible so I can break 22 minutes but I don't know what training to do in such little time at home.

Is it best to run a 5 mile loop everyday and just improve my pace? Or should I do speedwork?

I have 1 week now and 1 week in August...what would you recommend I do to gain the most out of that time?

(I will be jumproping for endurance also)

Thank you!

  1. almost all ur training in julys week will wear off over 4weeks of nothing and u rlly cant do much in one week. u need more time than that to train! sry to let u down :-(

  2. First, dont be tense, second, practice alone doesn't make amn perfect, it also depends on your concentration level when you run.

And ofcousre, you just need to improve your pace
