what about the rest of the cities of israel.. hebron, teleaviv, bethlehem, nazareth, tiberias or any other city.. I know some cities are holy for christians because of the events of jesus life.. but e.g hebron is a place of a mosque and synagogue together because abraham was buried.. how do you know abraham family were buried there? as well I have heard about safed. a city of important graves of mystical rabbis of kabbalah teachings.. I am not sure.. please explain me.. how important are there for you? I forgot the tomb of rachel.. kabbalists believe in the red string.. for protection.. I would like to have one..if it has any power against the evil eye.. but I would not pay for those from internet.. I think they are expensive and it's even worst .. I live in mexico.. soo light me thanks for answering.. sorry for my english.. I speak spanish.. shalom.. I am catholic and I admire judaism

  1. the hill that the temple was on is significant for many reasons. the temple was built on it for one of those reasons, because it's a holy place. in hebron, abraham is buried along with his family and people know that because the information was passed down through the generations (how does anyone know anything about the past?) your information about safed is correct as well but all of the cities, every hill and tree is significant to the jews because they believe G-d gave it to them, it is their homeland. as for the red strings, they can also be purchased at the western wall and don't usually cost more than 25 cents

  2. some of the cities that were jewish cities and have been founded by the israelis thousands of years before have been given to the palestinians in the peace negotiations(like beth lehem and most of hebron).

i never heard of any diggings done to confirm the existence of the graves there.i think it's widely excepted by jews (and most muslims and christians) that those places are their burial cites.this is based mostly on the bible.

    my friend

the red string thing is an amulet believed by many to give "protection" .

this belief is false like any other superstition, don't fall for that..

  3. It is in prophesy that Jerusalem will be the capitol of Israel.

  4. All of Israel is holy.  We know that Abraham and his family were buried in Hebron b/c the torah says so.  The grave is marked with a large building commemorating them  Safed may be the most amazing city in the entire world.  It is a small town in the Galil (the northern mountains).  There is a cemetery just a short walk outside of the old city that has many great people buried there.  The city is full of jewish mysticism.  The people that live there can be best described as religious jewish hippies.  The tomb of Rachel is located just outside of Bethlechem.  it is entirely surrounded by the security wall, as it is surrounded by a very hostile area.  You cannot approach the area unless you are in a bus.  They sell the red strings there to, I believe for around $5, and they are authentic.  The red string is not kabblah.

  5. Hello my friend,

All of those things you mention, are correct, except you forget that many many years before the Jews went in Palestine and formed Israel, the Greeks have been using the area as a port for their commercial ships.

Even Herodotus mentions clearly in one of his books the location of Palestine, giving us, the modern people, many useful and revealing facts.

He actually describes the Northern and Southern borders of Palestine and some of the habits of the people living there.

Later on the Greeks got married with the local nomadic Arabs, forming thus the first Palestinian communities.

The Jewish people emerged many hundreds of years later.

I hope I answered your question correctly.

    Greetings.
