  1. Though he has gotten significantly better at road courses I doubt if he'll win. i'm alot more comfortable in his ability to get through the race clean and come out with a good finish. To me if he can get a top 10 and maintain his points standing it'll be a victory and a relief. But if he does win we'll be right back here on monday listening to how NASCAR "handed" him the win.

NOTE to MARK: How does a guy dominate at talladega and Daytona.. win 19 times... and be one of the sports elite without ever driving??? If that was the case shouldn't you have a couple wins and a multi million dollar empire????

  2. It could very well be his first road course win as long as he gets a good qualifying and Bush grows up . And by the way , this weeks race is my home venue . It's still Searspoint as far as we die hards go . Searspoint rocks , Infineon sucks .

  3. ya i like road courses nice to see them turing right.he will get his chance.

  4. I think he'll be fun to watch, he's gotten better at the courses of the years.  Now that he has some top notch equipment, it'll be really interesting to see if he can pull off a top 10, but I honestly dont expect him to challenge for the win.

  5. I think he will do good. I read in Nascar Scene that he went with Jeff to another road course for testing. You know that win will give him momentum and I think he will do great !

  6. This could be his year, now that he has a win.

  7. I like them. Sr. won seventy-six times during his career, and Jr. got his first win in seventy-six races on Father's Day.

  8. He's not bad but turning right is not his style of racing, he did more short track stuff during his career and he probably never drove on a road course until Busch and Cup. The main thing is he has to have some luck to win and get some tutoring from other drivers who road race. I think he'll get top 10s but Jr. is not a road racer so I can't see him winning.

  9. Yes but remember that 11th place finish was because of a late fuel stop, he was running top-10 all day long at Sonoma and the Glen(before the engine gave out). Remember Jr's now teammates with one of the best road course guys in the business and I'm pretty sure that Jr's talked to him. Actually evan Jr's a big fan of road racing(F1 and V8 Supercar are his favorite series outside of NASCAR), he's done the 24 at Daytona twice, and used to run ALMS events in the GT class.

  10. Maybe at the most a top ten finish. I don't anything more than that.

  11. He was running pretty strong last year at The Glen when his engine blew up, though I don't see a win (a couple other guys are just TOO good at the roads) he could be a contender.  Pit strategy is ALWAYS involved, and the 88 team has figured that stuff out pretty good this year.

  12. I would not predict a win at Sonoma, but I read also that he and Jeff had gone to a road course for some testing. I'm hoping for a top 10 in Sonoma, we all know this is Jeff's track and he runs great here. Last yr Dale Jr was running good at the Glen till dang motor blew.. With this silly season anything can happen, but I think Jeff might get his first win this weekend..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  13. As a jr fan since his late model stock days I would have to say he has gotten better at the road courses. I hope to see a top 10, even a lap led but to win I am not too sure about that. He has the talent but there are also many tallented road course drivers out there that are overdue a win and will be tough to get around. (Sorry Busch does not count here, he won the nationwide road course true, but that feild was lacking the talent sprint cup has)

It would be nice to see Dale win a road course this weekend but if he did I am sure you haters would find some way to discredit it.

My money is on Jeff G and Smoke....

  14. Jr hasn't drove his whole career.  Let alone a track that takes skill...

  15. Dale Sr. won 76 races in his Cup career. Dale Jr. went winless for 76 races until this past Sunday at Michigan... and it was Father's Day. He also just happened to catch the caution flag on the last lap as he ran out of gas. Coincidence?

    Strange dude,

I was there when he won, I was at his first race he won in 76 of em wow i'm so lucky

♥I luv Dale Jr. So MUCH♥

    Go #88, Dale Nation

  16. He's a good road course driver. It's possible.

  17. It is hard to say.  He has never really been a fan of road course races and he will be the first to tell you that.  I am hoping for a top five.  If he wins that would be awesome.  The cars are a lot better this year of course, so we will see what happens.

  18. It will be fun to watch, his road course driving,

has some-what improved. I wonder what he will do in a Hendrick car. I will be honest though, I would be surprised if he got a top 5, let alone a top 10. But I hope he does.

  19. Last year he spun out all by himself and didn't finish well at all. He has never done well at road courses. I like both him and Jimmie, and neither of them do particularly well on these tracks. I think a good goal, and a great accomplishment for them both is to finish in the top 10. A top 5 would be even better. Jr. is coming off a win though, and the momentum from it. Might be the confidence that he needs for a great finish.

  20. At best a top 5. I don't think he will win the road course.

  21. He will be in the top  most of the day.

  22. I love road courses, I avidly watch series like the Le mans, SCCA and Grand Am series.

As far as Jr at Sonoma, well, hes always been feast or famine. He has had a few good runs there, just never been able to captialize on it. Whether it be from contact, part failure or plain as day driver error on his own accord.

The Glen on the other hand, has been kind to him. He's got a better average there, he's usually a top 10 car for the most part. Has a win there in the Busch series back in 99.

  23. he did win a busch race at watkins glen in '99, passing the great ron fellows on the last lap to win it. but he's always been better at the glen than at sonoma, he's never had a top 10 there. but then again he's never raced there in HMS eqipment either. road course races usually come down to pit strategy, and eury jr. has been making all the right calls lately. ( not just michigan but pocono and charlotte too ) junior just needs to race his own race and not worry about what anyone else is doing. if he keeps the car on course all day, you never know what fate may bring at the end of the day. we'll see.
