  1. If you really care about animals, you'll be a vegan.  Dairy cows have the worst lives of all farm animals.

I eat beans and rice, nuts and seeds, nut butters, soy protein, hemp protein, grains like quinoa.

I have no problem with protein.  Never have.

  2. VEGETARIAN all the way!

I eat lots of beans, boca burgers, cottage cheese, protein bars(there actually pretty delic) peanut butter, almonds, Theres tofu but ive never tried itt, looks sketchy

  3. OK you should still have some protein from chicken, but if you feel that strongly about it i wouldn't go there. one of the best substitutes for protein is GREENS, spinach is very good and rich in nutrients for your body. Keep up on your vitamins also. you may not eat meat but that doesn't mean that you have to go all conservative on people.....many people hate that about many others. hope you find this answer helpful!

  4. People don't need much protein.

It's true that meat has a lot of protein.

It's also true that people don't need it.

The average meat-eating person receives a massive overdose of protein that results in many adverse side effects, including osteoporosis, kidney disease and accelerated aging.

There are many non-meat sources of protein.

Some common ones include beans, nuts, tofu and other soy products, spinach, rice and other grains/cereals.

I personally just drink a glass of soy milk with a Centrum multivitamin each day.

This guarantees that I've gotten all of the nutrients I need, then I can just eat whatever I want, which is usually the same stuff everybody else eats, just without the meat.

You should stop eating dairy too.

But doing so will take away a lot of the foods that you're probably used to eating, so maybe just meat for now.

    Good luck!

  5. tempeh is good

    also cheese

    kidney beans and rice

and eggs (if youre not vegan)

  6. Meat -  mock meat

Proteins - soy bean is the complete plant based protein. Other sources proteins - nuts, seeds, grains, vegetables legumes but need to eat assorted to compliment the missing amino acids, as these sources are not complete protein on its own.

  7. Well ya..I'm a vegetarian and mainly...I eat dairy, beans, meat substitutes (like veggie patties, or veggie hot dogs [it tastes exactly the same as meat, but it's not meat], and like nuts...I have to eat protein every 3 hours or I pass out, and I am always having enough protein. I love that you want to save the animals!!! Thanks and good luck!!!

  8. go ahead and eat meat, its good and people have ate it for ages. It doesn't matter how the animals were killed there just animals anyways. We should all be more concerned on how bad people in Africa are being treated because they are not animals they are human.

  9. Eat alot of things with iron, like asparagus. Tofu is a good meat subsitute, it has lots of protien and depending on how you cook it, I think t really tastes yummy! :)

This is also a good site.

  10. Fruit, Beans, Veggies, Rice,  Soya Milk, Rice Milk,

Coconut milk, nuts, grains, seeds, sprouts, fake meat!  Fake meat recipe:  Canned Pumpkin  mix in it oatmeal, wheat germ, soya sauce, seasoning salt and if you wish diced onion!  result you have fake meat and you can use it for burgers or meat balls or meat loaf!

  11. hummus is awesome. make your own with a traditional recepie then add hot salsa for a kick yumm

  12. ok so morning star is a brand of meat protein substitutes and its really good. they have veggie hot dogs, burger, sausage, bacon, chik'n nuggets and breakfast foods

  13. bocca burgers, veggies, beans, nuts...

  14. Theres a resturaunt in my city and they put certain spices on yam to make it taste like chicken. Its called mock chicken.

I guess nuts give you portein. BTW Nuts

    Google "Mock Chicken"

  15. My family enjoys beans and rice, tofu, nuts and nut butters, milk, cheese, yogurt, fake meat alternatives (Boca burgers, Morning Star Farms), lots of fresh fruits and veggies, breads, couscous, pasta, and even treats like brownies, ice cream, pudding, etc.

  16. well i eat lots of beans rice nuts and dark green veggies there grate sources of protein. there's also boca and morning star farms which are great meat supplements.

  17. I turned vegetarian around 9 months ago. It's alot easier than most non-vegetarians make it out to be. Fake meats, eggs,  tofu and beans are all great sources. You should start looking around the internet for restuarants that offer vegetarian dishes. Many thai places have a fantastic selection of delicious meals.

  18. The highest source of protein my friend, will come from animal products. However if you are really wanting to get into the non-animal products, be prepared to do your research.

You can find some great foods such as Quinona (Say keen-wah) - looks like really tiny pasta but it is packed with protein; Chia - yes like chia pets, also has lots of protein. Soy products are good, but if you are female you do not want to overdo the consumption of phytoestrogens.

Vegetarians (ovo-lacto) can eat cheese, eggs (high protein source) and other dairy products. Nuts - almonds, peanuts (peanut butter), also are high in protein.

If you combine rice and beans, you will get a complete protein. Legumes are good sources as well.

Also, look at protein bars - read the ingredients and see if they are something you are interested in.  Hang out at the Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe etc type of stores and become a label reader. Do your research if you truly want to become a vegetarian or vegan. Be prepared to miss some of your favorite snacks - cookies, cakes, all use animal products (milk, eggs, oils).

    Read and you shall find.

  19. well i love hummus, and it has alot of protein in it. there are many substitutions and fake meat brands, such as yves, and scheiders has soy chick'n nuggets which are very good, they also have chick'n burgers and 'hamburgers'.

  20. Beans rice and fake meat.

  21. When you eat beans and rice together you get a complete protein, so that's a great thing. Eggs are good, too, and there are some really great tasting veggie burgers out there :)

  22. Kidney beans (or most beans), dairy, and tofu are all excellent sources of protein.

  23. Morning Star Farms and brands like it are good substitutes for meat. Vegetarians can still get proteins and the like from milk or soy. Some vegetarians still need supplements though. For instance, omega-3 mostly comes from fish. You would need a supplement for this. Vegans would need more help getting the things they need in their diet so they need supplements for all the vitamins and minerals they can't get from being vegan.

Before you become vegetarian, it is best to do research and read books so you know exactly what you need to be vegetarian.

  24. Imitation Dog Meat

  25. First of all becoming a vegetarian is a hard thing but if you stick to it you'll get healthier and second of all I see that most vegetarians eat salads(Duh).

  26. i'm a vegetarian and have been all my life, we eat quorn and tofu, and sometimes we eat dairy products but they are all free range. My advice would be just to try a lot of foods, experiment because one of my friends tried to become one but found it too hard. It'll take a lot of effort and determination, but stick in at it, it's worth it. It gives you a lot of satisfaction knowing that you are doing something that is morally right. It also helps that it's harder to get some diseases such as coronary artery disease, because this disease is easy to get if you eat a lot of fried meat, it also keeps your cholestrol lower, oh and you know that you wont get bird disease!

You can still get these things but I'm just saying that they are harder to get than if you eat meat.

Hope this helps persuade you :)

Also watch out for chewy sweets, a lot of them have gelatine in them, which is taken from animals.

  27. If you just cut meat and made no other changes (but to eat proportionately more calories of your other food sources) you would still probably get enough protein.

Seeds, nuts, and legumes are the most common sources of vegetarian protein. Some grains and veggies are also good sources. Quinoa is one example.

My favorite protein is definitely beans. I love 'em. Mashed up into a dip or spread, cooked into soup or chili, on salads. Yum!

Seriously, though. You'll have no problem. Just be careful that you don't replace meat with high-fat dairy alternatives. If you stop eating meat but start eating pizza with extra cheese, huge plates of scrambled eggs, and so on, you will probably be doing more harm than good for yourself.

  28. i REALLY love thick juicy, and extra beefy, hamburgers. yum... i also loove thick delicious, greasy bacon. my mouth starts to water when those meaty smells come wavering up to my nose. i just have to eat it all

  29. i am not a vegan or vegetarian but i don't like meat .. idk jk ... vegertarions eat maybe rice/ salads/ breads/  idk if they eat chicken

  30. eggs and beans

also there are boca burgers and tofu

  31. Firstly, there are meat products widely available where the animals have been reared in better conditions and killed in more humane ways, rather than the usual battery farming.

Secondly, vegetarianism is a serious lifestyle change so make sure you consider the different options. There are substitute meat products which are pretty good. Soya, tofu, beans, pulses and nuts make up the majority of protein in a vegetarians diet.

You might want to consider the different types of vegetarianism such as lacto-ovo vegetarianism which would allow you to eat eggs too. A semi-vegetarian diet such as pescetarianism (where you can eat fish), or pollotarianism (where you exclude all meat except poultry and fowl) may also be worth considering.
