Only problem in resumption of cricketing toes with India is scheduling, says Ms. Khar – Cricket News Update
Pakistan Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar has reiterated her country’s desire and the cricket board’s desire to resume bilateral cricketing ties with arch-rivals India, , however she understands that scheduling is the real problem in this regard.
She had made these statements, speaking to media reporters at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi, while on official tour.
"Our Prime Minister has always talked about the resumption and India is also very enthusiastic,” said Miss Khar while watching the third and final T20 international between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 on Monday. “The only problem is scheduling and that is why there
have been problems, but cricket plays a huge role in bringing people of both the countries together so it should be played," she added further.
India has a tight schedule till 2014 and the Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 is finding it difficult to pencil in an Indo-Pak series, at any venue.
Whilst the fans are eager to see a series in any format of the game, but the real connoisseurs of the game, are hoping to see a Test match series, but it is not possible for the Indian team to find a window of opportunity in its closely packed FTP (Future
Tour Programme) to play an extended series against Pakistan.
Miss Khar said that her country believes in cricket diplomacy and the people on both sides love the game and cricket matches between the two teams would help in curtailing tensions between the neighbours.
No international team has toured Pakistan since the March 2009 terror attacks on the Sri Lankan cricket team in the city of Lahore. But the country’s Foreign Minister has said that the situation in the country has improved considerably over the past few
months. She also added that the government of Pakistan will provide high level security to the teams that will tour Pakistan in the future.
“...you must have seen the situation in Pakistan has improved considerably in the last few months...I don't think there is as much of a security risk as is perceived...for cricket we can provide the type of security that is required," said Ms. Khar.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 cricket team is likely to tour Pakistan in April for a three-match one-day series and the government of Pakistan has ordered four bullet proof busses to ensure fool proof security for the visiting players.
