Okay, so from sites like this: http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/driver/gradu/index.html

it seems to me that basically you need to get your G1, and then wait 12 months (or 8 if you complete driving school) to attempt your g1 road test.

But i dont get when you can get your g2? you need to wait another 12 months to attempt the g2 road test?

Well, its confusing because I have a couple friends my age that actually have their G2s and theyre only 16/17 (turning 16 or just turned 17 this year) when from sites like that i thought you would have to wait another 12 months until youre like 18 or almost 18?

  1. At 16, you go get your G1.

12 months later (or 8 if you take approved training) you take a G1 road test and if you pass you get a G2.

12 months after getting a G2 you take an "exit" road test and get a full "G"

A G2 cannot be renewed, if it expires before you pass the exit test, you have to start all over again with the G1 process...
