Ontario Hydro's Debt Retirement Charge?

I heard that a bill was passed that you don't have to pay the Ontario Hydro debt retirement charge that is on your bill. Has anyone else heard this, I would assume if this were true, it would have been all over the news?

There has to be something in case law that makes the pawning off of Ontario Hydro's debts to the consumer illegal.  To boot, the debt was to be repaid by next year but is now going out to 2018.  I'll be dead by then!  Now let's add to the TOU rates and smart meters with an average 40% increase in electrictiy cost in Peak and mid peak hours and a laughable 20% decrease in Off hour rates.  The pittence of a rebate we get from the Ontario Govournment costs more to issue than the face value on each cheque cut.  This is without a doubt the definition of insanity... or would that be us paying for all this and not doing anything about it.  Can you spell tax revolt people! 

There is a petition going around and I will most assuredly sign it.  Then I'm sending a bill to Ontario Hydro and the Ontario Gov. to start them on the road to MY debt retirment.

Any third year law students out there that want to make a name for themselves????  Please, I beg you... get the ball rolling on this.

No proposal A or B like when the American people vote something in. Land of the FREE. BULL!. Why do we keep taking this c**p. HST- this is to hand over more money to business to give them a tax break, thank you government!. Hydro Debt Tax- my fault you didn't pay your bills. Again, thank you government! Oh! let's don't get into the smart meters, Definition-( SCAM METERS). now they can control what is peek hours(charge us more) and what is not. As I speek they are already changing it! Our COMMUNIST government wants more and more control of our money, and they are always finding more ways of getting it. LETS STOP THIS GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION!!!!!!

One problem is, that you'll ask your local hydro company, or your local MP or MPP about any details and you'll never get a straight answer, if they even answer at all. If they do answer it's all scripted. HST, ECO charge, Ehealth. That's just your Liberals. Would any other party be any different?

There is a Revolution to join !!!!!!! The ONTARIO LANDOWNERS ASSOCIATION.
Go on their website you'll be pleasantly surprised that there is a group of people you can join up with to fight against Government bull .This was started up by folks that are sick of being taxed and taken advantage of by our so called Government. The O.L.A seems to be a very powerful & knowledgeable group of people. Also thru this group you can get the info to apply for a CROWN LAND PATENT...for the land that you have bought...which when obtain ..gives all rights back to the property owner, where it should be.

this is just another example that our free socitey is not really free after all!! Our elected goverment officials seem to feel that we should pay for their inabilities to act fiscally responsable with tax payers funds. Not once do i remember be askes if i as a paying taxpayer agree to help these morons pay down a debt they could of prevented!! I hope if i get fired from my job, like a past C.E.O of Ontario Hydro did, that they pay me a hundreds of thousands of dollars for being a moron!!!! I say this will only stop when enough people say "I've had enough" and just refuse to pay this dictatorship for stupidity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I for one will not mourn the passing of any former Ontario Hydro top executives when they kick the bucket...Maybe then can the debt retirement charge decrease.  Wishful thinking on my part

Today, May 14,2010 it was announced on the news that Hydro One had made a profit of 169 million this year...must be all that money from us poor taxpayers paying their retirement charge faithfully on every bill. Time to revolt taxpayers! Let's all not pay it and see what happens!

We should not have to pay this Bill anyway. We paid our Bills as they came in. Hydro should have did the same. You make your Bed you Sleep in it. Don't leave your poor investments and bad Debts for us to Clean up. It is suppose to be paid by 2012 or 2020. Yes,,, Just like the income tax was suppose to be removed after the War, and it never was. Hydro will dream up another charge or make more bad investments they want us to pay for.No wonder Ontario is in such rough shape with so many HANDS in our Pockets.... George Roloson
