Ontario Teacher's Salary?

Can someone explain to me how my salary would be determined if I were to become a High School teacher in Ontario? i.e. different educations different salaries? cuz im not sure how it works...thanks!

  1. Different school boards within the province of Ontario will have different salaries (not that they vary much). You send proof of your qualifications  to an independent body (QECO)which then tells the school board at which level you should be paid. In general, teachers with Honours degrees are paid more than those with 3 year degrees, those with Masters degrees are paid even more. There are other factors as well such as specialist qualifications.


  2. Contact QECO http://www.qeco.on.ca/ I think this is where everything is determined.  If you are only getting paid A1 (which is where you start) but have the credentials for A2 and above you apply.  The pay is retroactive once approved.
