Ontario Universities specilize in Economics?

I'll be grade 11 next year

Could anyone please gimme some suggestions so I can do some research on it? ^^

I've been browsing the internet for this, but I was really lost in the massive overwhelming "propaganda" in different blogs and forums...

I've read articles from McLeans, not really sure...

Lastly, any good articles like "Economics course survival" and etc? I would like to know about it since I've know top students that get 98 avg. in Grade 11 failed to graduate.

I'm getting 96.5 and I'm worrying... O.o

Thanks a lot!

  1. Laurier is decent, as is UWO if you're looking into Ivey Business school later (I've heard).

I wouldn't worry too much about your high school grades (as long as they're good enough to get in) as an indicator of success.  At least in first year, success is mostly dependent on not completely losing your study skills when you're away from home and no one's checking whether or not you go to class.  A lot of people who did well in high school completely lose focus under those conditions.

I've even seen it argued that people who have struggled a bit in HS do better in Uni because they know what it means to study hard and figure out something they don't "get" right away, while people for whom everything came naturally in HS don't know how to deal when something doesn't.

Besides, high school grading in Ontario is so laughably non-standardized that a 1.5 point difference is inconsequential.

    Edited to add:

Just one more thought:  Be sure that going into economics is what you want to be doing.  If you want to study the economy, that's probably where you want to be.  If you want to *participate* in the economy, most successful business people I know who did that started as engineers or physicists or mathies (I'm a mathie myself) and tacked on an MBA (or not) as needed afterwards.
