We do not have a Ontario Blue Box program in our community as it is too small. Could you please explain to me how effective it is in helping your environment and your health?

  1. It cuts down on the garbage at the landfill. I'm surprised you don't have it in place. I'd start a petition to do so. I put out four boxes of recycling bins a week for our family of four. It's important to do your part and you can even do it without the blue box, start composting your coffee grounds, egg shells, paper towels, etc.

  2. Really?

Do you not have a recycling program then?

Perhaps you should ask your city/town officials because I find it to be quiet essential.

We have two blue boxes in Mississiauga and a green bin for organic waste.

When we moved here we thought that our family of 6 couldnt possibly meet the weekly garbage bag limit of 2 bags.

But now, we usually dont even need a second bag.

Most of the things in your house are recyclable or organic.

And we usually put out more recycling besides the full boxes and they pick it up.

I dont think there is any limit on recycling here though there is on garbage.

You should ask your city/town officials if there are other ways of recycling etc.

It is a great deal of help in reducing landfill usage and it helps the environment.
