Oompa loompa Michael Gyasi on his way to the Bridge
Chelsea football club, of North London have gone on and beaten Arsenal at signing one of the upcoming prospects in the world of football. The player who the team have successfully signed is German born eleven year old, Michael Gyasi.
Gyasi currently plays for the Cobblers under-11s which is a sub team of Northampton, who use such programs to help develop talent at a grass root level. The youngster has been with the team for the last three years, meaning he was first brought in at the tender age of just nine years old.
However it is now reported that the player has been performing at such a good level, that he caught the eyes of the current reigning champions of England. Who are willing to land their man, or boy in this case, at any cost.
According to the Head of the centre of excellence Trevor Gould "Not only is this is a superb opportunity for Michael but it reinforces the quality of player we are bringing both into the club and through our centre of excellence."
"Michael has progressed well and has improved with our coaching, and while we obviously want to produce and keep our best players, when a Premier League club like Chelsea come knocking then as long as the deal is right for the club, we will never stand in a boy's way."
"It would not be fair on them or their parents to do so. That is the understanding we have with all of our boys, and that trust helps us attract the best local players to the club."
Northampton, clearly feel quite strongly about their little man. The only reason they retained the services of Michael was because they were the only team willing to meet his unreasonable terms and conditions, which included: Lollipop's for breakfast, for lunch and for dinner.
Chelsea have also left no stone unturned on the road to landing their player. They have agreed to pay whatever compensation is required to the development centre after having already paid a down payment of ten thousand pounds.
This news might come as a shock for a number of reasons, the first and most important being the fact that someone beat Arsene Wenger to signing an unknown super star of the future, in the past Wenger has been criticized by a number of people for going into the market looking to sign only younger players who have the potential to do great things. However with Wenger currently focused on other problems at the club, it seems like Chelsea snuck under his nose and captured Gyasi.
The second reason for this transfer coming as a shock to most people is the fact that Gyasi is currently only ELEVEN years old. That means the boy hasn’t even hit his teenage years yet. Which leads us to question Chelsea’s decision of signing the player. He might have been playing some tremendous football, however considering how young he is, it might have been a hasty decision on the teams behalf to land the player. It is more than apparent that Gyasi might not be the player that he is expected to be, or in other cases, the weights that he will be carrying on his shoulders from such a tender age, might just result in his career being over before it even begins.
Nonetheless, from what experts have seen so far, the player has a very mature game for an eleven year old, he knows where the goal is and he knows how to make the ball end up in the back of the net, which is all that someone would want from their strikers.
Along with this, the player would also be brought under the supervision of the likes of Didier Drogba and if he manages to learn an ounce of what the player has to offer to the youngster, it is safe to say, that great things can be expected from Gyasi.
However Chelsea need to keep a close check on their man, who just happens to be unusually little and make sure that Mr.Wenger doesn't try to lure him away from Stamford Bridge, by offering him twice as many lollipops and all the chocolate that a little person could hope for. That being said, Chelsea better have a rather spectacular dental plan for their oompa loompa
