  1. William is the oldest son and Harry is the youngest you are right about that. And it was King Henry the 8th that had the 8 wives. He also was the one who brought in several relegions to either assist with getting rid of his wives or they were beheaded.

  7. William is eldest, Harry the younger.

  8. Correct, William is the oldest, born in 1982, currently 25, Harry is the youngest, born in 1984, turning 23 in September.

There's just a 2 year age difference between them and I'm in the middle, at age 23, born 1983, about to turn 24 :)

Heck I'm closer to their age than I am my own sisters. One's 11 years older and another is 8 years older.

  11. right

  12. William is the eldest

    Harry is the youngest

and Henry the EIGHTH had 6 (that's 6) wives -

Catherine of Aragon {mother of Mary I otherwise known as bloody Mary for her part in the burning of Protestant Martyrs} She was originally married to Henry's older brother Arthur but he died so Henry married her but after 20 years or so of marriage Henry wanted a divorce as she didn't produce and heir but the Pope wouldn't issue a bull so Henry broke away from the RC church. She is said to have died of a broken heart as she wasn't allowed to see Mary and was ostracised from court.

Anne Boleyn {mother of Elizabeth I - one of the best monarchs Britain has seen} she was chopsy and not liked, Henry trumped up some charges about incest and had her executed because he had fallen in love with Jane Seymour and he didn't want to go through another lengthy divorce.

Jane Seymour {mother of Edward VI - he died at a young age (16) of Tuberculosis} said to be the only wife Henry loved - she died of puerperil fever about 2 weeks after Edward was born. She was one of Anne Boleyn's maids so that's how Henry knew her.

Anne of Cleeves - after Jane died Henry's advisors thought it expedient that Henry should remarry so he sent Holbein to paint a picture of Anne who by all accounts was boring for Henry (although he didn't know it at the time). When he saw her for the 1st time he called her The Flanders Mare and sought an annulment to their marriage, giving Anne lots of land so she wouldn't complain!

Katherine Howard was young and flirty when Henry married her - she was also a cousin of Anne Boleyn. Before marrying Henry she supposedly had an affair with Thomas Culpepper. After getting married to a rather old, fat Henry she resumed her affair, Henry found out and had both Katherine and Thoma Culpepper executed.

Katherine Parr outlived Henry, married Thomas Seymour [Jane Seymour's brother] then died of puerperil fever after having a daughter called Mary who died in infancy) She brought Elizabeth and Mary back into court and helped to heal some rifts. She was like a mother to Edward and she placated Henry when he was in a mood. She was also saved from some plot to get rid of her!

It's a fascinating period of history and reads better than any Bond novel ever could :)
