  1. I had reply to you in another question you had asked about them.  The visible difference would be the size.  Most of the Mauna Loa is underwater, and it is very broad volcano.  Mt. Rainer is on the land and looks much more impressive.  Mt. Rainer is covered with glacier and the bottom of the mountain is forested.  Mauna Loa had numerous explosions and much of the older vegetation perished.  The area of the volcano is mostly barren land.
