Open Uni - is there a big difference between level1 and level 2 courses?

i want to start with a level 2 course - will it be too hard? (i dont really need a level 1 so i dont want to pay for something that isnt necessary for me)

  1. If you dont need the level 1 then you can start with level 2. Level 1 is more a preparing you for study-getting used to essays and the style of the university. For some courses/degrees you will have to do level 1 to be able to qualify for the degree.

    Level 2's do tend to be a bit harder as they require a more advanced knowledge in the subject than the level 1. It's best to call the Open University and speak to them about the qualifications you have and what you are wanting to do.

    (I am a level 2 at the moment having passed all 3 of the level 1 courses I needed towards my BA in Early Years)


  2. Hi, I'd say it depends on your previous studies. I returned to study with the O.U. after a long time just working with a level 1 course and found it useful. I now do business studies at level 2 and its still quite a big step up.
