Question:

Open University. Do they do access courses?

I didnt manage to get in to uni thios year :(. I was referred to a access to HE to improve my chances next year.

I'm 29 and I work full time and I dont want to leave my job just yet. Can I do an access course tru the open uni? Are these qualifications respected by admission tutors?

I'm not sure if the OU does Access courses because it is fundamentally a University .... however you can ask them if they know of any online Access courses.... or alternatively you could study your Access course through adult education in the evenings..... speak with your local adult education centre manager - they're a mine of information!

    You will find most universities will be really open to receiving OU qualifications - I know that S103 and DD100 are both acceptable to most universities, I think it does depend on what you wnat to study.

    I am currently studying with the OU and am really enjoying it - like you unfortunately, I could not give up work to go to uni.  

    Have a look at the Open University website and if you are still seeking help, contact your regional office, as they often have "open days" when you can go and get some advice.
