Open alcohol ticket (ontario)

I was given this ticket and I am going to pay the $125 fine Monday.

Will this show up on a criminal record check?

He said it would appear on my record for 2 years, but would it affect me getting a job?

I researched somewhere and it said it is just like a traffic ticket.

Thank you so much. I wish I wasn't so stupid to get the ticket in the first place.

p.s. this in my only incident with the police, other than that my record is clean (no traffic tickets/ never been in trouble with the police)

  1. I am from the U.S. but I think the situation is the same in both countries.  This is a traffic offense.  It would not be a concern of someone hiring you.  The exception would be for a job as a truck driver.

  2. 1.  It will not appear on your criminal record, and unless you disclose it to your potential employers, they will not be made aware of it.

    2.  No, it should not affect you getting a job.

    3.  Yes, it is just like a traffic ticket.

    4.  No, your insurance will not go up.  If it was on a bus, then it has nothing to do with you driving and will not affect your insurance.

Basically, you are out the $125 and have learned a good lesson.  Don't sweat it.
