I am looking for links where Ican get process-orientatedart ideas forkids. I AM NOT looking for "crafts" I want art experiences that will encourage children to use imagination as opposed to duplicating a craft.

I have done fingerpainting, gadget painting but want other new things for my kids.

Links to sites would be a great start!

  1. I've done cut paper sculptures. I provide scraps of paper and teach some techniques like accordian fold, fan fold, spiral cuts etc... We then create 3 dimesional paper sculptures. My kids really get into it and imagine themselves playing as a mini person. Open ended and kids walk away with some really original pieces.

The kids also created their own village. Gave them a bunch of art supplies and we created houses, streets etc... loved it.

I read the book, The big orange splot by Daniel Pinkwater (??) and its about a man with an original house, then we each created an original house for themselves.
