I am having trouble finding shows again. My mom, sister, and I used to show all the time but since my sis moved out and we sold almost all of our hoses, we kind of lost touch with all the show info and we're having a hard time finding anything out again. Does anyone know of any local fun shows that are in Southern Georgia or near the Alabama- Georgia line? I show western and the shows i used to go to would have, halter, kid classes, english and western pleasure classes, then would go on to the running events then after the running would be the championship running events. Im looking for shows that have that kind of set up and are open so you dont have to already be a club member or know the people who are running it

Please help

  1. Hi, I am in the same boat as you are. My husband is in the Army, and since we have gotten stationed at Fort Benning, I am having trouble finding shows. I did find a link to the Georgia International Horse Park -

They have some open shows listed (Newton County Saddle Club Open Horse Show ), and I am thinking about trying to go to some of the fall shows. I hope this helps you.

  2. There is a circut that runs over in Seale, AL.  It's right on the Georgia-Alabama line in the southern end of these states.  I've shown at the Busted R arena in these shows alot, and have always enjoyed myself.  Everyone is very friendly!  There are 3 different associations that 'recognize' these shows, but you don't have to be a member of any of them to go.  But if you were interested the membership fees are minimal for these clubs, and you could have a chance at wining some end of the year prizes.

    Here's the info:

  3. I would try to Google this problem and find ANY listing for open shows in Ga.  Then call whoever the contact person is, and ask them about the area you are searching. Chances are they can help.

  4. the John Archer Agricultral Center has both English and Western it is located in Mobile Alabama I am not sure if that is to far for you or what. I ride English so that is all I can think of that has western...there is a nice place my friend shows in in Hurley Mississippi right on the Alabama, Mississippi border...let me see if I can find anything on the Archer Center....

all I could find was the address and phone numbers...you can call them and I am positive they will have a list of events :) I know once a month they have a hose show...like the second saturday of each month or something? Not many restricions just a nice simple place to show :D
