My Place (as in "I'm going to my place..."... foster a sense of ownership on the part of your residents)

Our Place (as in, this belongs to all of us)

New Beginnings, if you are going to help them get a new life.

Other wise I really don't see how opening a homeless shelter would help anyone.

Joe's place (or some other first name perhaps someone you want to honor.) if a Christian shelter My Father's House.   Mom's house if a women's shelter   the idea is that it be welcoming like a sense of a new start towards home and that when someone staying there is asked where they live in stead of saying I'm at the shelter they can say I'm staying at  my father's house.    One shelter I liked used to be called grandma's.

New Beginnings is also a name that is used a lot.    One name I like that a group in GA uses is  The Place  if you need a place to stay this is the place. If you need a new start this is the place. etc.

And why dont you name it something that dont envolve the word shealter cuz some people have to much pride and they kids should not suffer.

Name it something life

New Life's Christan Center

or

Woman and child christain comunity

You can even say cathlic or what ever you prefer.

Make it sound more professional rather then hey i'm homeless. Cuz when my mom and me and sibs was in the shelter she would get embarresed when applying for benifits or what ever.
