Hi guys!

My mom had a day care back home before we immigrated to Canada, and she is interested in opening a day care in her home here in Ontario (GTA).

She asked me to check for her what kind of training she has to take in order to be working in the field.

Would apreciate any kind of help, if you can please give me some links to schools that give these trainings.

Thanks a lot!

  1. ok well your mom doesnt really need any technically if she is running a daycare from her home. she also doesnt need to have it "certified"

HOWEVER...now a days that may not be a bad idea. she doesnt have to have training to have her home certified. but someone will come to the home and inspect it make sure its safe, ask her about what she has planned all that kinda stuff.

i strongly suggest that she take emergency first aid/cpr as a basic as that will look very good to prospective parents!

if she wants to take courses there is early childhood education though it is a 2 year program at most schools.
