Opening a daycare nursery?

I would love to open a daycare nursery in the future.

Does anyone know the overall cost this will take? and how i can start about doing it?

  1. Contact the office in your state that regulates day care. Also, see if there is a Child Care Resource and Referral Agency in your area. They often can help.


  2. Contact your welfare dept and contact a insurance agency and every area is different but im sure the small business administration might be able to help you

Check with child care licensing or the department of protective and regulatory services in your state.  There are MANY rules, regulations, and requirements that you will have to follow to obtain a license.  As far as the cost, it depends on the type center you wish to open,  in home daycare is not as much as a day care center.  Insurance is also a factor, depending on the type center you open, you will need to call insurance companies and ask for commercial insurance quotes for day care facilities.  DPRS for your state will probably be able to refer you to some good companies for insurance.
