Opening fitness centre in Brisbane????

Does anyone know the fair trading requirements for opening a fitness centre in QLD? Ie. Do you have to be a certified trainer? I notice many of the contours & curves owners are not, are there no regulations on this???

Your observation seems to be correct.  I cannot find any legislation or local ordinance that requires a fitness center owner or operator to be licensed or trained in any way.  However, some of the equipment brands and franchises (obviously NOT Curves or Contours) do require rigorous training and certification.  Certainly, the better regulated and standardized the requirements of the owner/operators, the safer and more effective results the members could expect, but it does not seem to be law.
