Opera dress code?

I am planning to go to Austria (Vienna and Salzburg). What do people wear there?

Opera dress code (strictly)

bow tie or regular tie, not an issue!!

BUT

- you have to wear a formal full suit (men) or your national costume (if from India, nehru suit works)

- no trainers/sneakers/sport shoes - HAVE to be formal shoes

Women:

- full suit (with trousers/skirt), ball gown, national costume

- no sports shoes

it's quite a grand affair, so dress accordingly..

the same applies for entry to casinos, theatre shows, etc
