Operating system help?

Question

okay so i have:

a.) a new emachines desktop with vista

b.) an upgrade disc of xp

c.) an old windows Me bootdisc from my old dell

i want xp back....can i install Me on a new partition

then either swap over all my saved programs and stuff...then upgrade to xp...

or can i intall Me on a partition upgrade then change over all my files

thus not having to backup all my files and programs....

yes you can upgrade to xp after installing win me on a new partition..you will then be in a dual boot with vista.
