Question:

Operation Blue to Green while in DEP status?

I enlisted in the Navy because every body was pushing me towards it but I think the Army would've been a better way to go though. I am still in the DEP program and was wondering if I could go Blue to Green before I leave in January.

  1. not as such, no.  you must be released from Navy DEP( and they have the right to hold you until your ship date) and then trot over to an Army recruiter and begin the process all over again.  B2G is only for current Sailors and Airmen to transfer to the Army with no break in service.

  2. easy. quit navy dep, go to army recruiter. sign up 'nuff said

  3. You havn't swore in the 2nd time so just get out of the navy contract and go army. Contact an army recruiter and they will be happy to help lol

  4. I heard that it's not a binding contract. Seek out help from an attorney.

  5. Getting out of Navy DEP is pretty ridiculous. It will take awhile. No recrutier will talk to you until you get a page 13 discharge letter. Best bet, give a letter to your recruiter. You might have to wait upwards of two months to get a discharge letter. Once your ship date is cancelled, then you can to your local army recrutier

  6. blue to green is only for current Airman and Sailor to transfer to the army. i was going to do it two years ago.
