Question:

Operator assisted appointment wait time from the UK for F-1 Visa?

I have to make an appointment with an operator at the American Embassy in London for my visa interview for an F-1 visa. But they do not give out any information until a large sum of money has been taken from my credit card. I need to have the interview AFTER 10 July when I will be in the UK. Does anyone know how far in advance I should ring the Visa Operator at the Embassy to be sure of an appointment when I can be there? I can't afford to keep phoning them (it costs 16 british pounds just for the phone call). Thank you all.

  1. You can see here...

...that the wait for an F-1 visa interview is only a few days.  However, you can figure that the time will get longer later in the summer, when more students are ready to apply.

In general, you can make an appointment a month in advance.  However, as you can see from the page above, London makes appointments further in advance than that for tourists, so it will be the same for students.  You can call now for an appointment after July 10.
