I have lived in my house for over 2 years now and mow the grass weekly. In the back by my garage is about 6 feet of grass on the other side of my driveway before hitting my neighbors fence. I mow this grass because my kids do use this area to play in and it is on my side of the fence therefore being nice. Walking towards the front yard in one long path it obviousely goes almost halfway into his front yard. Still on some days I feel kind enough to mow it. Should I now be expected to? Whenever he cuts his grass he stops short of that area in the front yard not only making his yard look tacky but making me mad---- I don't like it when people expect me to do things. I have not cut that front area (in his yard) in about a month and he is out there right now mowing his grass but stopping short of that area. It is his property. I have checked with my landlord. What is your opinion= should I be expected to mow his yard or should I stand my ground and let him deal with it?

  1. Honestly...I don't think that he realizes that it is his yard there. I think more or less, he is a little confused since you mow his yard sometimes and then don't, I'm sure he doesn't know what to think. You may be the only person that has ever done anything like that for this guy. Some people don't realize when a person is being kind. It may seem like he should know, but you can't really expect someone to be able to figure out certain things. He may feel like he's stepping on your feet if he mows this area. If you want to set things straight, you either need to stop mowing or take it up with him. He may even think that since your kids play there, then you can mow that area. Who knows.

  2. when i mow i cover my neighbors front yard also, but that is because he is an awsome neighbor and its not too much extra work, ............also favors aren't some thing that have to be returned soooooooo if you know and like the guy then yeah it won't hurt nothin

  3. Too bad you started to mow it. Now he expects you to do it every time.,.......even though he should be mowing it.

I'd talk to him and see if you can work something out. Maybe you mow it one week and he can mow it the next.

  4. if you want it mowed looks like you will be the one doing it,he sees no need and since your doing it why should he......tom
