  1. Stayed there a year ago. I thought the rooms were nice, and the place was really clean. they have new rooms called Go Rooms which are very nice. The location is quite frankly the best on the strip. I go to Las Vegas about 4 times a year and would definitely stay here again.

  2. Read about this hotel http://hotels.americacheaphotels.com/Hot...

  3. A clean nice older hotel within walking distance to many other casinos.  There is nothing wrong with the hotel.  Enjoy your visit.  Remember the average visitor does not spend much time in the room with so much to do in my 24/7 town.

  4. Stay at the MGM if you 18-40.   If it's yr. first time, stay @ Treasure Island,it's centrally located and it's not huge.   The flamingo, unless U R staying at 1 of the more expensive rooms, I don't rec. it.  I go to Vegas about 6 x yr.   I live in TX and manage several trips out there.   Consider what you can afford.   I don't like the more expensive Hot/casinos like Bellagio and Mandalay Bay because they are overpriced and the guests are usually snobs.  I play slots a lot and enjoy Harrahs, Monte Carlo, Circus Circus and some of the older casinos to play.  I like the MGM, Luxor, Ceasars, and NYNY for clubs and the Wynn, Planet Hollywood, Bellagios and definately the Paris's Buffet's.  The best rooms for the price are prob.  The Paris Hot/Casino and if you want to spend a little more, The Venetian's rooms are all suites.

  5. pretty gross. It's just pretty old you know, and there have been way too many people in there.

  6. I used to work there.  I love the Flamingo.  I watched the construction of their pool area.  It's awesome.  Although I was sad to see Bugsy Siegel's bungalow get torn down to make room for that pool.

The Flamingo is rich in Las Vegas history. It was one of the first hotels, (the first on the Strip) in Las Vegas.  It was controlled by the mob for years and years after Mr. Siegel's untimely death.

As they've added towers, they've been continually remodeling.  The new Go Rooms are very nice.  The casino is nice, not too big like the MGM monstrosity.  The restaurants are good and the location is ideal at Flamingo Road (named after this hotel) and the LV Strip across from Caesar's Palace and the Mirage.

The prices for this hotel are lower than those of MGM, Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, Paris etc. who need the larger price tags to pay for their construction.

I give it 2 thumbs up!!

  7. Its a very nice hotel.

Not as "hip" ( if you really care) as some of the other hotels. If thats important to you try somewhere else. If you want nice affordable hotel with a great pool, try the Flamingo.

  8. dont listen to the first person because it is not gross at all! I'm 17 and have stayed there with my parents for a few years now. They've done so many renovations over the past few years and have made the hotel very nice looking, rooms and casino. If your budget allows, i would suggest the go rooms because they're new and everything about them is very nice. The flamingo pool is also very nice. Age ranges from 10 year olds-70 year olds lol. Theres alot of young 20s there tho drinking in the pool. It is also centrally located so if you like to visit other hotels and attractions this is a very beneficial spot to stay!

  9. I have stayed there about a dozen times, at least, over several years.  The hotel is in a great location for enjoying all of the strip; easy walking distance both ways.  The hotel is one of the oldest on the strip BUT it has been renovated several times and some of its wings were constructed in the past 10 years.  AND, the hotel has just begun a renovation to  more upscale rooms with modern fixtures and features.  I stayed in one of these new rooms last trip to Vegas last year and it had a glass wall between the sleeping area and the bathroom. The bathroom had been redone to have just a shower stall instead of a tub, with a glass wall and a redone vanity area with a mini-TV screen in the mirror.  Basically the same kinda upgrades that the MGM did in its West Wing.

What I did not like about the hotel on this last trip was the pool area was way too crowded in part because they had roped off parts of it for cabanas and even closed off the upper level pool for private entrance and charged a fee.  Based on what they have done to the pool area I probably will never stay there again in the summer, maybe in the winter is OK.  But I now prefer the Paris or Monte Carlo over the Flamingo.
