Question:

Opinion on passport. Should I bother to change my name again?

My passport was issued before I was married and has my maiden name on it. I had it amended to have my married name on it. The only place you can tell it's been amended is on the last page and it just plainly states "this passport has been amended" with the new name. Since then I've been divorced and have changed my name back to my maiden name. Do you think I should bother going through the process to change it again or will no one even check the last page? My name will match my ticket on the picture page of the passport. I just don't have a copy of my divorce decree to provide to have a new one issued. Not to mention I don't really feel like paying another $97 plus for it.

  1. Yes...if there is an issue...it will be difficult..get it right..

  2. I think Kapn's right to a large degree. It depends what country you're traveling to. Perhaps it won't matter so much in Canada or perhaps Western Europe. But, you also don't want to make it to someplace like China and end up getting stuck there for days because an overzealous airline agent or immigration official won't let you leave without the correct passport information. Airlines have every right not to board you for any discrepancies, and immigration officials can also detain you for such things. It might be worth the trouble and money to save you from future headaches.

  3. Well in my opinion I wouldn't bother as no one is likely to care or check it
