Question:

Opinions On Industrials (Piercings)?

Is industrials a gauge too? I know pain is different for everyone, but I already have my ears gauged to a 14.

I have been wanting an industrial and I need some opinions on if I should get one, I mean I know they probably hurt but as they say "No pain, No gain".

Guys would you date someone with an industrial? My brother said he wouldn't.

But I mean that is his opinion, I just want to know if you think I should get one, and if it does hurt. Please tell me how they pierce it also because I know it is a long bar. My friend Jonathan has one and I like it alot that is when I decided I wanted one. So I need some opinions!! Help me please!

I don't know if a picture of me would help in any way but I will provide you with that also.

  1. Gauge is a measurement. So, yeah, Industrials do have a measurement. Every piercing does. The standard is 14 gauge (1.6mm) your ears arnt gauged either (cause gauge is a measurement) they are stretched.  I have an Industrial, and a 5mm stretch (I think this is 4 gauge) and I can say that the Industrial hurt so much more!

Industrials do hurt, yes- but really the pain varies from person to person. For me it was the most painful piercing I've gotten. And I have 13 in total. They pierce it in the usual way- they take a needle, push it through and then repeat for the next hole then thread the bar through.

My opinion is- they look really great, but are painful to obtain and can take up to a year to fully heal. They are quite problematic and stubborn healers (cartilage always seems to take awhile to heal.) But, if your willing to put up with this, I'd say go for it.

As for the guys dating you thing- I cant answer that personally because I'm not a guy. But I have an Industrial and I have a bf (who incidently has no piercings) And would you really want to be with a guy who was that shallow that he wouldnt go out with you for having a piercing? I know I wouldnt. I'm sure it wouldn't put many people off at all. And if it did, those people wouldnt be very nice.

Good luck with this and I hope I helped you.=)

  2. and insutrial is gauge. and i believe it was very painful, but i can't compare it to anyother piercing since this is the only way i remember getting. i had my ears pierced when i was like 2.

i'm going to tell you the whole system cause, yeahh. they will draw the dots on your ear to know where to place them and show you where it will go, and youll tell them if you like it there or not. then you'll lay on your back on a table, kinda like the ones at the doctors. you'll breathe in and out, and in and out, and then as you exhale they put the needle thew, the breathe some more and but the bar, then do the same for the other hole. They will s***w on the ends. and tada, your done!

but make sure you have enough sugar and aren't starving or what not before, cause if you are you'll pass out, and thats not funn. and if you do think you are tell them and stay on the table. trust me its better then falling on the floor and hitting your brand new piercing. that hurts.

anyways, the pain of the needle is only bad when it first goes through and like 15 minutes after youll have a stinging pain through your ears from the nerves i think, but just takes migrane pills for it. it goes right away.

and if a guy won't date you because you have an industrial means hes not the right one.

    mkayy hope i helped. (:
