Opinions about this name issue please!!! :)

Question

my son's name is Johnathon aka Jack, he's 2 1/2.

my girl is due in December...and we LOVE the name Jillian...aka Jill obviously. i'm not intentionally trying to name my kids Jack and Jill but is it cute or corny? my boyfriend thinks its absolutely adorable, and everyone else we have asked thinks its too cute...but will they get made fun of?

so what would do you think? would you name your kids Jack and Jill or what would you think of siblings you went to school with named Jack and Jill?

oh oh, and if you you could think of a good middle name, i'd love some suggestions for that too!!

Possibly consider Lillian??  I dont know about Jack and Jill. Being an immature individual, i'd have a field day with that.  Being a grown adult, if that was my name - i'd be annoyed with my parents, even if it wasnt intentional.  The fact you were aware is bad enough.

Well i like both names but not when they are together.. when they grow up people will make fun of them for it, so for the sake of ur kids, dont name the girl jillian

My friends name is Jill and her twin brothers name was Jack. He is deceased now, but, in high school they were made fun of, but, they did not let it bother them. When I met her she had mentioned that she had a twin brother and I said, jokingly, what is his name "Jack" and she said "yes" how did you know, like it was NO big deal. Anyway, it would be cute....

Well, they are kinda close in age, so yeah, grade-school teasing will be endless. I like the names, but not together. How about Julia and Jack?

I think it's cheesy. I would use Jillian as a middle name to use the name you love, and avoid the Jack and Jill thing.

Why don't you call her Jillian, rather than Jill. Although remember Jack and Jill fell down the hill, so don't curse you children. They're both cute names though.

If I liked the name Jillian as much as you do, then I would still name here Jillian. But if you are still afraid that they are going to be made fun of, you could always use it as a middle name.

I think that it is really cute! And if they are different ages, people may not realize it as much as you think.

But I think you should for Jillian seeing as to how much you like the name.

i think that Jack Jill is sooooo cute.If other children did make a fuss about their names being linked to a nursery rhyme .What harm would it do .the rhyme is a lovely old tradional song that parents all sing to their children and learn them to sing its fun and most children will remenber it from when they were young.think of how much fun you will have singing it to youre children.my eldest is called Ben when i had my second boy my dad said i should call him Bill.WHY?so they can open a flower shop up when they are older and yes you guessed right they can call it BILL and BENS the flower shop men.I toyed with the idea for a while but decided to name him after his dad in the end   PJ.   good luck and remenber choose wisely.

They probably will get made fun of.  The names are cute for little kids and babies. They sound great as adults too. They are corny because of the mother goose poem. Some kids are jerks and some kids get teased. To avoid the teasing go with Liliana or Juliana. I love the name Jill though.

to be honest with you, i wouldnt name her jill, but then again if you and your partner like the name and want to call your baby that then do it! its completely up to the both of you and who cares what people say!! on the other hand I could see kids mocking them for it, you know the way they are in school, kids can be cruel and you dont want your kids getting upset over this!! Youll probably hear mom and dad why the h**l did you call us jack and jill?? I think lillian sounds better, but jillian is sweet, itl be cute while there small but its when school comes around and kids are smart enough to realise that there names are the same as the two siblings from a nursery rhyme!! At the end of the day its your decision and your the only one that can decide what to do!! good luck

so CUTE!!! If they do get made fun of, which i don't think will happen (i don't even know the names of most people's siblings and i've been with the same 60 kids since kindergarten (im going into 8th) Anyway, jack might just chande his name to John, which isn't so bad eiters.

Let's say this. Kids can be mean and if they decide to make fun of somebody they will do it regardless of the name. I can picture a little bit of  that happening in elementary school, but other than that it's not really anything to make fun of. Also, these kids will be more than two grades apart so the people they make friends with will most likely not know, or ever meet, their sibling.

I like Jillian Marie and Jillian Rose.
