Opinions for my new business - honest answers please!?

Question

I need as many opinions as I can get on this please I'd really really appreciate it.

I'm planning on going into business and opening a restaurant/bistro type of place. I need to know what attracts the general public to such a place.

Please shoot out opinions about anything or follow these ?'s as a guideline....

My favorite place to sit and relax is ....

I love going to my favorite restaurant but I only wish they did/had....

The reason I continue to go back to the same places is because...

When I'm at a restaurant I prefer a quiet place or somewhere upbeat with music...

Hmmm.  You asked too much for me, I am so ADHD...  Look, what you do, is you pick a location, and then you go to the nearest college Marketing department, and ask them to do a survey. (Give them what info you have, and they may ask for more) They will research what venue, etc. will give you the best ROI for that area.  I swear, it is free.  I just saved you more than you know if you take this advice.

My favorite place to sit and relax is .... Outside on a patio during the day or a bar atmosphere at night.

I love going to my favorite restaurant but I only wish they did/had.... I wish they had good music playing where you can hear it well. Better choice of seafood or chicken meals... some of us cannot eat red meat, keep that in mind.

The reason I continue to go back to the same places is because... Mainly the food and service. Outgoing servers are a plus.

I really love when I'm at a restuarant/coffee shop and.... The waitress is on top of her game and friendly.

The greatest luxury is having.... The greastest luxury is not having to ask twice for the same thing or ask the hostess to please find your server.

When I'm at a restaurant I prefer a quiet place or somewhere upbeat with music... You should have both options. During the day I want to relax and maybe sit on the patio but at night I love a place with live music or just a fun atmosphere

I like a nice clean table and chairs without the dusty lamp or dusty plastic greenery overhead. One never knows when it was dusted last. Also the restroom is a dead give away if it's dirty so are the employees. Soft music is nice, but not so loud as you can hear your friends talk. A small vase with a fresh flower is very nice and inviting.Also, curtains on the windows, such as red checked gingham, or any color, or even lace would be nice. The food can be a coffee shop with sandwiches, or a nice size restaurant. If there was a restaurant out there with these accomodations, everyone I think would be standing in lines just to eat there. On special occasions, it would be nice to have table cloths. I have never seen a restaurant do that unless it was a hotel restaurant. This really made the dining experience very special. I like good food at reasonable prices.  Nothing trendy, or overpriced because it is too popular.  Possibly with a buffet style menu.

Someplace that's quiet enough so you can talk without screaming.  I can't tell you how TIRED I am of places that are so LOUD.  This is particularly an issue as we all (shudder) get older, since you get to a place where you're not as good at separating out different sounds (e.g. background noise from the critical thing your friend just tried to tell you).

Chairs need to be comfy - yes, it's nice to be stylist, but a little back support is a good thing too.

I love trying new and different things - but sometimes you just want an old favorite too - so I love restaurants that have a standard menu but also do 1-2 'new' things every day.

I also love not being shoved out the door before i'm done....
