I was planning on leasing a Jeep Grand Cherokee but i heard about Chrysler Corporations new policy. Do you think it will last?

    Currently many cars and trucks that get bad gas mileage are not being leased, because the way lease works is to "project" (guess) what the resale value will be in 2 or 3 years (length of the lease) and amortize that (or make that into loan payment).

    But so many bad gas mileage cars and trucks are losing value so fast, they cannot accurately estimate what these gas guzzlers will sell for in 2 or 3 years.

    lease is very lucrative market for car companies.  As soon as the gas prices stabilize they will start leasing again.  That may take as long as a year or more.
