I'm thinking about traveling to Negril this spring/summer for a week at an all-inclusive resort. From those who have been there, what are your opinions and what should I make an effort to see and do while there?

  1. Hi, I've been to Couples Negril (I've been to Jamaica 3 times and returning for a 4th, to Couples Negril) before and it was WONDERFUL... it's a wonderful place that's very... COUPLES oriented... perfect for a romantic getaway, honeymoon, or a WeddingMoon (we're getting married)

  2. Negril is a great place to visit if you like beaches.  My question is why an all-inclusive?  They are great if you have never been overseas before because food/drinks/some activities are included in the price.  The bad part you are stuck eating their food (they have the same basic menu year round), drink their probably cheap liquor, and they want you to stay on their property (forcing you to buy your souveniors from them).  You really don't get to experience the country and people.  With a little surfing you can arrange a nice trip to Negril, staying in some villa on the cliff side and still have freedom to do what you want to do/eat/drink.

  3. Depends on who you are traveling with and what you are looking for in accommodation's. Couples Swept Away and Couples Negril are often raved about, as is Grand Lido Negril. All are on the pricier side.. For a budget All Inclusive many love Negril Gardens or Merrils II, both are located next to each other in the heart of Negril's beach, near all the nightlife and action.

There are many things to do. Hire a boat to take you snorkeling and up to the cliffs, by Pirates Cave and Rick's. Go to Mayfield Falls for a 1/2 day trip. Go to YS Falls, Appleton Estate rum tour, Pelican Bar, and Black River safari for an all day adventure. Chill our at Roaring River and relax in the streams.

I love the snorkeling/ cliffs on a boat.. And Mayfield is nice because not only is it beautiful but it's not a full day trip so you can get back and chill early enough.
