Opinions on Olympus 510?

Question

I HAD narrowed it down to Canon xti and Nikon d40 but now I've sparked an interest in the Olympus

Can you tell me more about it/ if its intended for beginners /lenses

I think the Nikon D40 is a much better choice than the Olympus. Simply because once you buy a bunch of lenses for your current camera system, its going to be hard to switch. Nikon has much better cameras than Olympus, and I wouldn't want to invest in Olympus lenses now.. only to switch to Nikon later.

The D40 is an excellent camera. And at $450 with an 18-55mm lens, it's an absolute bargain!
