Opinions on current Saratoga meet thus far.....

I personally think that NYRA is getting some bad karma regarding this Saratoga meet. NYRA is a crooked organazation that made a back door deal with disgraced gov. Eliot Spitzer and it's coming back to bite them hard. The weather has crushed the meets handle and attendance, Big Brown skips the Travers, and they've overloaded racecards with grade 1's on certain days, leaving other days devoid of quality racing. Even Curlin in the Woodward won't save the meet. I love the old Spa but it's about time NYRA took the hit for charging $15 for weekend clubhouse seats, $6.50 beers, and $3.75 hot dogs.

I agree. Those factors are why I now do all of my wagering via the Internet. I haven't seen the inside of an actual smoky, dirty, crowded, noisy, drafty, damp, hot or cold race track in years. I'd reccomend you look into Youbet.com and do the same. They offer Saratoga in the comfort of your own home.

No one can  control the weather; you do the best you can.  It is probably in Big Browns' best interest to skip the Travers cus no one wants to see him finish dead last again.

NYRA has hissy fits over things that could help them and ignores sound advice left and right.  If Saratoga goes down, she won't go down alone - she'll take NYRA with her.
