  1. very unique

  2. I love the name Niamh, not so keen on Lorena though

  3. Neev is just okay...but the issue I really have is the spelling.  Im sure its traditional, but unless you live where its common its going to be tough on her.  If youre in the states, everyone is going to prounounce is like Liam with an N.  Worth thinking about.

  4. What a lovely name...yes very nice..

  5. That is dumb. Atleast spell it Neeve. Niamh is just strange.

  6. I don't know about the first name but my name is Lorena!! Well, in Spanish, do you say the first name like knee-ve??

  7. I love the name Niamh!  PLEASE don't change the spelling, it's so pretty the way it is... authentic!  Yes, you will have to spell it for people, but that's kind of how it is these days...

  8. I'd like to see one of that child's teachers look at the name Niamh and pronounce it Neeve.

  9. *** that.  its a great name 4 a p**n star. she'll be the best little ho.

  10. i think it's beautifullllll! i love it, a great name. it's absolutely perfect, sorry if i sound so ridiculous! it's one of the nicest names i've heard in SO long.

  11. ya it rhymes so do it!!!

  12. NIAMH  Gender: Feminine

    Usage: Irish, Irish Mythology

    Pronounced: NEEV

Means "bright" in Irish. She was the daughter of the sea god in Irish legends. She fell in love with the poet Oisín, son of Fionn.

I love seeing people using names of heritage. If you're concerned about pronunciation, the Anglicized spelling is Neve (like Neve Campbell).

Lorena is a place name: either from the French "kingdom of Lothar" or from the Latin "from Laurentum".

To me, Lorena doesn't have any real meaning to tie it to Niamh and I'm not overfond of it.

    A multi-syllable name ending in "A" is a good choice--good flow.

    Why not consider

    Niamh Corinna (a Greek goddess)

    Niamh Delsina (Latin for sweet)

Niamh Gianna (Italian for John: the Lord is gracious)

Niamh Johanna (Hebrew for John: the Lord is gracious)

    Niamh Mahina (Hawaiian for moon)

    Niamh Patricia (Latin for noble)

    Niamh Rhianna (Welsh for queen)

Niamh Tatiana (Russian & Latin for a Roman family name)
