I was born into a yuppie family

and I don't really know what's going on around me

except that you're talling me to be a criminal,

but criminals arn't supposed to do as their told.

I walk home everyday and see those pretty straight ladies,

hustling fake straight ladies who think they're hot ****.

In love with themselves, seems like one big oxymoron to me.

But what do I know?

Poor little rich girl, born and raised,

twist an shout, adored and praised.

All the pole workers down town tell me i need to get out.

I'm living in this contradictory fantasy land

and I can't understand.

people like Tipper or Johnny play in rock n' roll bands.

Everything less radical, less personal.

Momma was a writer, Daddy was a surgen.

If you **** Jesus, are you still a virgin?

I used to think the big haired ladies were pretty hip,

but things blow up and ruin it.

That's why you gotta keep changing, man.

You gotta stay free.

Cause someone with less money ain't never gonna help me.

  1. I hope this isn't autobiographical...very angry, sad, confused yet almost hopeful...this poem is saturated with teenage angst...I feel like i'm 13 again...just so sure you know when you don't but you know just enough to be angry...very confusing times...stay free and hopeful....i hope is the final message

    in all-interesting work

  2. It sounds very infantile, sorry. Complaining about being born into a rich family is very condratictory, if it's so bad, then maybe you should do something about it, rather than complain. Freedom is in your hands and you have to be the one to acknowledge it :)

    Peace
