Good, bad, personal experience, I want to hear it all. I am really trying to absorb every fact before I green light more shots.

  1. There are so many opinions and so many scary stories on both sides. Concerned parents should research and follow their guts. I believe a persons own intuition is more valuable than the opinions of doctors, family, and friends.

Our family found these sites helpful:

    know-vaccines.org

    vaccinationtruth.org

    thinktwice.com

    vaccinetruth.org

    http://allnaturalhealth.us/june_russell_...

    http://educate-yourself.org/vcd/

We decided not to immunize our son after researching. I was told my son would not be able to go to pre-school this year if his shots were not current. This is a LIE! I went to my local health department (in Florida) and received a religious exemption form. Florida and many other states only offer exemptions for religious reasons but some states offer philosophical exemptions as well. Obtaining this exemption was easy breezy. No one asked questions or made me feel like a kook. The form is in my son's file at his school and he's able to attend class just like everyone else.

  2. I think it is very important to vaccinate.  The chances of something bad happening to a child from getting a vaccination is slim to none, but if the kid is not vaccinated, he/she will be very likely to get diseases that could otherwise be avoided.  Like chicken pox. Whooping cough.  Things that could be deadly to a kid.

  3. The benefits are huge and the risks vanishingly small. Go ahead.

When I was a kid there were no vaccinations for things like measles and mumps and chicken pox. I can tell you that you don't want your kids to have those diseases (or others), and the kids won't like them either.

  4. Vaccinations are the way to go! My daughter recently went for her booster for kindergarten, and got 5 shots!! I couldn't believe it!! And no kidding this is a true story, when I told her that she was going to get shots, she got up and walked right out the door without saying a thing, she just gave me a look, like: "umm excuse me?" lol Then when we came back in, she said "i want to be homeschooled!!" Smart right?? To make that connection?? Long story short, she is immunized. : )

  5. I say... research research research. No way no how will I ever inject my child after doing that.

  6. My third baby receives his first shots tomorrow and I have no concerns. Of course I'll watch for a temperature and might expect some grizzles but immunisation is important. Ask your child health nurse for information on the different vaccines and the statistics on adverse reactions.
