Theoretically, it's not a bad idea.  Realistically, you can believe you're going to be the next Olympic champion, but if you don't practice, have talent, and work your butt off, you're not going to make it!    The old "If you can believe it, you can achieve it" motto only goes as far as your talent and perseverance do.
