  1. Sorry, honey.  I know peeonastick.com is pretty reliable and tested and they are saying that an OPK will show a positive but to verify with a HPT.  But I am sure a nurse isn't going to say this is a good idea.  I still think you are looking positive for this to be your month.  You should know in a few days.

It may be too soon to tell though.  The wait stinks. :(

EDIT If cd17 was an implantation dip then I would wait a few days for a blood test since your numbers can't increase until the egg has implanted.

  2. Go by what the nurse said.

Don't give up hope, it WILL happen whether its today, tomorrow or next week. Whats the rush? You have lots of time. It will happen, don''t worry.

    Good luck.

  3. no - an opk will not work as an hpt.  they both test for different things in your body!  The nurse was right.

  4. OPKs can be used as early HPTs though shouldn't be considered to be 100% reliable by any means.  LH hormone (which OPKs detect) is very similar to the pregnancy hormone HcG.

We had positive on OPK as early as 7dpo and positive on early HPT on 9dpo.

You can definitely do a blood test now.  Blood test can detect hcG as low as 5 (where was early HPT detects 20-25 level). With respect to your cycle, the drop in temp is not looking good though. That indicates  mean progesterone hormone has dropped / dropping and period might be starting soon.

So the nurse is not entirely accurate on either front.

    Good luck.
