Opponent Preview: Oakland Raiders face Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers
We have reached the end of this opponent preview series of Oakland Raiders. In this last edition, we will preview the games to be played in week 12, 13 and 16 of the season.
In week 14, 15 and 17, Raiders will play Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers respectively. We have previewed all these teams before.
The three games which we will preview here are relatively easy for Raiders. It will give Raiders the opportunity to end their regular season on a high.
Week 12: Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals were pretty good during the 2011 season. They finished the season 9-7 and had the roster depth to control any emergency situation.
The most important factor for their improvement was the outstanding performance of their young players.
Now in the new season, these players have the added experience to improve their game further.
Their defensive team is looking extraordinary this season, especially when compared to Raiders offence.
Raiders do have a chance in this game if they control the rushing play of Bengals which was below par last season.
Head-to-Head
Bengals and Raiders have played 28 games against each other. Raiders are ahead with 20 wins while Bengals have won eight games.
Week 13: Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns have been struggling to perform well for many years now. Last year, they finished 4-12 and that was not something new for their fans.
They have finished their last four seasons at the bottom of their division. In the last two years, they have started rebuilding their roster.
Browns’ offence is looking worse than ever. There are questions about their starting quarterback. This issue is yet to be resolved.
Browns’ defence, on the other hand, did show positive signs last season and it looks even better this season. Raiders should not have any problem winning this one.
Head-to-Head
Raiders and Browns have confronted each other 21 times. Raiders have won 13 games and Browns have won eight.
Week 16: Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers had a terrible last season which was rescued by quarterback Cam Newton towards the end.
There is no doubt that Newton is a remarkable player, but Panthers are over dependent on him.
When it comes to offence, they have a good side which will support Newton, but the defensive line is not looking that much good.
Raiders do have a much superior roster as compared to Panthers and are capable of beating them easily.

The two teams have played only four games versus each other. Both of them have won two games each.
