Opponent Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers face Carolina Panthers and New York giants
Opponent preview continues with a new series that will preview the opponents of Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Buccaneers are coming in to the season with a new head coach Greg Schiano. He is a man of great discipline and seeks the same attitude from his team.
The drawback for Buccaneers last season was their lack of discipline and lack of vision. Buccaneers’ owners The Glazers will be looking to overcome this major hindrance with the help of Schiano.
Roster strength has been the focal point of Buccaneers offseason. They have added good amount of talented players like Carl Nicks, Doug Martin, Mark Barron, Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson.
The major issue for Buccaneers last season was the average performance of their quarterback Josh Freeman. He should be able to give good performance this season as he has the weapons to get good scores.
Week 1: Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers are slowly building their roster with outstanding players. Although they finished last season 6-10, they have discovered one of the best talents in league.
Quarterback Cam Newton had a gem of a rookie season as he was able to break the record of covering the most yards in a rookie season previously held by Peyton Manning.
He is a type of player who can lead the team in any situation, but he is still young and lacks experience. He does have support of players like Steve Smith, though.
The defence is facing some critical issues especially when it comes to playing against quality offence.
Buccaneers have much more balanced team than Panthers which makes them favourite for this tie.
Week 2: New York Giants
New York Giants have more chances of defending their title this season than they had of winning it title last season.
Giants have strengthened their roster with tremendous young talent who are coming with a good reputation. Their star player quarterback Eli Manning is in astonishing form after winning the Super Bowl.
They have added players like Rueben Randle and David Wilson into the offensive team. The defensive team will be bolstered with the return of their main players this season.
