Opportunity!! HS World History Teacher asks...

Question

I am low tech teacher at a tech savvy high school looking to incorporate the world in my teaching ( ie video conferencing, mentoring). I want my kids to see differing points of view. I would like to communicate with High School students in Iraq, and Europe to answer the eternal question WHY DO MEN FIGHT WARS? I would like to involve other classes from around the world to get their viewpoints. This is turning his into a major project for my class that seems to be turning into a major theme for my school year. Only serious teachers respond please. Ideas are welcome, LETS START THE DISCUSSION!

It sounds like you are starting something we learned about in my grad program called an Internet Project.  You can put up your project on a registry site.  This will make it available to other classrooms around the world.  You may even find that another class somewhere has already started one on your topic.

try looking at www.globalschoolnet.org  This will give you a good place to start and there are other links you may find interesting!
