Can you give me a list of Oprah Winfrey's contributions?

I need 5 more facts for my Black History Month report.

I already know about the school.

Ignore the others. Punion can't even spell.  :S  I'm not a fan or supporter of Oprah (I won't even get myself started on that!) but that's not what you asked for! Hopefully this helps:

Here are a few things she's done:

-Started her national book club. Lots of people write in saying they never read books for pleasure until she started her book club.

-She opened the girls-only school in Africa.

-She asked viewers and audience members to donate money for a year and gave it to good causes domestically (I don't think any of that money went international).

-She's raising awareness of the need for better education and better schools across the US. Most Americans can't even locate their own country on a map due to the poor school system. Pathetic.

-She supports politicians and advocates for ones she believes are doing good work (ie: Obama).

-She works to educate people about important issues such as illiteracy, the environment, world poverty, education, etc.

I Believe she is just show-boating, Don't kid yourself, a lot of this is tax-deductible. As for going out of the country? What about our sorry state of affairs in the USA? She is totally tiresome. Amazing how she jumped on the Obama Presidential Race. I feel she is pretending to be a celebrity interested in all Americans when in fact she is totally for one race only. I find her loud mouth annoying as with Regis Philbin and that Kelly Ripa. Annoying and time for a change on the television shows.
