Oprah good or bad for women's equality? Why?

Good and bad. One one hand, it's great that she has been able to come up from practically nothing and become a billionaire. On the other, she got there from making personal sacrifices (marriage, children), taking credit for work she didn't do, and essentially copying the format of a now-defunct talk show (Donahue) and making it her own.

In response to another post, I believe that Oprah is a closet Republican, not a liberal. She just doesn't want to openly admit it because it would put her in the same league as Clarence Thomas and J. C. Watts, both of whom are widely regarded as being traitors to their own race.

Bad. Because she's a liberal and liberals are bad.

I guess good. She's a good example of a women being a sucessful media professional. Other than that, I think her show is mindless drivel for bored housewives.

She's a talk show host. That's all. That's like asking whether Henry Kissinger is good or bad for the rights of handicapped brick layers. No connection.

She doesn't do anything for women's equality. She does a lot for women's reading material, but not much else.

How can she be good if no one can relate to her? She's a BILLIONAIRE and only a handful of people in the world live like she does...so equality is somehow not entirely believable in her case.

everything she does has a hidden agenda to it.  she needs to just go bask in her billion dollar mansion in the sky because I can't stand looking at her let alone listen to anything she says.  I wasn't crazy about her from the gate but the last straw was when she backed obama lama ding dong instead of the millions of women who helped her get where she is.
