I would like to introduce myself as a simple and deep-rooted resident of Jorhat, a small but beautiful town in the Assam State situated at the North Eastern corner of India. Love for my native place and the affection that I have for my native people have always inspired and fascinated me to do something for Assam and the people of Assam too. I have always wanted the world to know the beauty and splendor of one of the unrevealed part of India. I got the opportunity to do so through my writing, “A Tale from the Dale” based on the Assamese society that divulges the hopes and dreams of poor village people and their ceaseless struggle for the bread of life.




It is not an out of question to mention here again that the English is not my mother tongue while Assamese is my mother tongue. With much difficulty, with very hard working for a period of five to six years I have completed my English novel “A Tale From The Dale.” I write this love story with all the spontaneous emotions and out burst feelings of my love-pouring heart crying for the humanity and uttering for the liberation for the suffering people. From the very beginning I have raised my strong and courageous voices for the humanity and for the justice too. After a lot of struggle my book was printed in USA published by M/s. Publish America, USA (www.publishamerica.com) in the month of October’2009 which still gives me an immense pleasure that I can not express in only one word and single language. Because I know well that there is, like heaven and earth, a huge difference between my native town little Jorhat and the vast enormous and big USA; how far both are differently situated, in unknown Jorhat what a trifling unknown writer I am! Where USA and where the smokeless, dustless tranquil Jorhat having one of, the smallest air-ports in the world surrounded by flora and fauna, and what more else! There are, in around Jorhat with many cultivated stretching paddy fields and open valleys; long grazing land touching the distant horizon, chains of high mountains kissing the blue sky and numerous cascading rivers over flown with leaping ripples running through our heart with smile and tear, with joy and sorrow which are all reflected in each page of my novel. And where such Jorhat and where the great and the gigantic bustling USA that I have never seen in my life; feeling only what a gargantuan divergence between us like opposite poles of the earth. Anyhow, kindling my little heart with hope and aspiration my book was printed in USA in the long run.




For me “The Tale From The Dale” is not only a heart touching novel reflecting the strife of human life, it is the flowing river of love, cleaving through the heart of young man and woman that nobody deny the nectar of love, the exotic colour of love -------- love, in real sense is the rainbow of life never capitulating against the storm of life. Through this novel my simple writing but full of the commotion of emotional appealing is still wanted to touch the heart of the man pleading to the world earnestly urging for a deep faith in love, in chastity, in justice and in humanity.
