  1. astronomers point two or more telesscopes at the same object.

when they combine the light it produces interference patterns. by analyzing the interference patterns with computers they can figure out what the object looks like.

radio astronomers have been doing this for decades. it's just now that it is practical to even try it with light. the reason they do it is that they can create an image with the sharpness of a telesscope whose diameter is the distance between the individual telesscopes. do a search for "aperture synthesis". it's really cool.

  2. Interferometry is not only optical, it can also be used on radio waves, and is done by using a device called an interferometer. (interference meter)

Radio or optical waves are collected by 2 or more apertures which are combined to give improved resolution such as for separating two closely spaced objects.

  3. I dont know :P, but can you help me with my math? Me and you have the same math online thing . Please. . :(
