Question:

Optical to Coaxial?

I recently bought a Philips 42" 1080p television(42PFL5603D/27). I have an older Sony Dream DVD home theater system(DAV-C770). The television has a digital coaxial out and the surround system has a digital optical in. Is there a way to plug the two of them together with a single cable or some kind of adapter? Also I am looking to buy something at a store not online. I don't buy anything over the internet. Any stores that might carry something like that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is what they look like, Expect to see them  at the closest thing you have to a Radioshack, Curcuit city, The source, maybe even Best Buy.

    Hope this helps.

  2. To connect your TV digital coax out to the Sony optical in, you need a coax to optical converter, just like the one from Radio Shack, called:

Cables To Go Coax-Optical Digital Audio Converter

    $19.99

      Model: 40018

    Catalog #: 55009399

Go to the Store and buy this, if they do not have it in stock they can order that for you and you can pick it up when it is available.

Also, if you are using a cable box or a satellite box, you can just connect the optical out from those boxes to your Sony receiver if you don't want to do the above.
