Optician or anyone who can answer about contacts?

Question

hi , i'm thinking of purchasing a "circle contact lens".

lens that are use to define the eye .

i dont plan on wearing it all the time , jus for special events or once in a while .

i am currently wearing contact lens with a prescription .

should i get a thumb-up from my eye doctor first ?

do you think it can cause anymore damage to the eye than any regular contact ?

if i were to order one , should i order the weekly, monthly or yearly ?

are these from the day you open the contact case or counting the days you actually wear the contact ?

Hey, its me haha you answered my question and i gave you 10 points! thanks again. So, anyways. are you talking about colored contacts? and i think, you Dont need to talk to your eye-doctor. I dont think it will hurt your eye. Its probably just like any other contact you ware. I would think if you really want those kinds of contacts for a while, then get monthly or yearly. But if your only gonna ware them on special occasions, just get them like a day before the event as weekly. I dont know, its up to you. Good last question. Because I mean, if you keep it in the case, you would think it would be fine for a while until you use them. I would have to say, its counting the day u open the case and start to ware them. Im not too sure. Im new to contacts. If you really want some advice, Read some of the other answers :P

You should definitely see your optometrist first.  It is illegal to sell contact lenses in the U.S. without a current prescription for them, with or without correction.  Here's a short article:

The doctor can give you the right measurements for your eye and will let you know what is safest for your specific eyes: weekly, monthly, or yearly.  He or she can also check up on your eyes while you are wearing the lenses or after you have worn them to make sure they are not causing any damage.

I think they look safe and fun as long as you have a doctor monitor you with them.  Hope you get some. :)

i think it would be best to just talk to your eye doctor about things like this, it cant hurt, and that is what he/shes their for....Right?

you can have the contacts in the case as long as you want

the 2 wks is as long as u can keep in ur eyes

try acv define. it is great for one day use.

i personally like the circle ones. The square ones always seemed to dig into my eyes.
